First pic of new 2009 Jaguar XJ revealed at Shanghai Show

What you are seeing here is the first teaser picture of the new Jaguar XJ, which will be officially revealed in July 2009 . This picture was revealed to the international media at Jaguar's press conference at the Shanghai motor show 2009 a few days ago. The new Jaguar saloon will be fully revealed on July 9 2009.

Jaguar managing director Mike O'Driscoll confirmed that the all-new XJ will go on sale at the end of 2009, but will officially be revealed on July 9 in London.

The XJ will also continue to feature aluminium archictecture, use the recently unveiled 5.0-litre supercharged petrol V8 engine, and come in standard and long-wheelbase layouts. Mike O'Driscoll also claimed that the XJ 'will introduce the highest standards of personal luxury and specification, including a panoramic glass roof'. Well, that doesn't sound so new to me, since a lot of other competitors already feature such 'personal luxury and specification like the panoramic glass roof.

Prices and further details for the new XJ will be revealed on July 9, and orders will be taken from this date ahead of the first deliveries which will take place in early 2010.

Now, that is surely a very bad timing for the Jaguar dealer and importer in Egypt, MTI, since they just started a new initiative called 1+1= 3 (or something of that kind) in order to sell some of the cars they have in stock. Well, if I was you I would wait and sign up for the new XJ on the 9th of July 2009.
